Gourmand means 'a lover of
good food'. The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards were founded in 1995 by
Edouard Cointreau, Spain at the Frankfurt Book Fair. For 11 years now,
the GOURMAND AWARDS have been the International Oscars for food and wine
books. There are over 24000 different food and wine books published
around the world every year. Every year, the "Gourmand World Cookbook
Awards" receive thousands of cookbooks, from over 60 countries, in over
40 languages.
